Onyado Chikurintei

Eleven suites at the foot of Mount Mifune, inside Mifuneyama Rakuen garden, is either a very small hotel or a very good argument for slowing down. This ryokan-style retreat holds a Michelin 2 Keys distinction, and the rooms open directly onto bamboo groves, flowering trees, or mountain views, some with private baths and garden paths. The forest does most of the decorating, and the seasons do most of the scheduling.
