A two-Michelin-starred fine dining room tucked into the basement of a wellness hotel in a Bavarian Forest village of a few hundred people, which is either wonderfully absurd or quietly brilliant. The chef runs a four-to-eight course set menu built on classical French technique, precise enough that every glaze and purée feels considered rather than fussed over. The wine list is well chosen, and the service is the warm kind, not the stiff kind.
