Padre Hotel

A speakeasy, a rooftop lounge, a steakhouse, a bar and grill, and a café, all inside one hotel in Bakersfield, which is either ambitious or a cry for help, and somehow it works. The Padre is a mid-century-swank boutique hotel that's been around forever but reinvented recently, and standard rooms already come with California king beds and down duvets before the suites get genuinely excessive. The Michelin Guide has it on their Selected Hotels list.
