    Gilded ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and a view across to the Jardin des Tuileries set the register before anyone pours a drop of wine. This is formal fine dining inside Le Meurice, with two Michelin stars and Alain Ducasse's name on the door. Tasting menus move through French classical tradition by way of the kitchen's own creative detours, and pastry chef Cédric Grolet's desserts have their own following online, which tells you something.
