    A listed villa in Frankfurt's old diplomatic quarter, with ceiling mouldings and hardwood floors that suggest the building has always expected to be taken seriously. Restaurant Villa Merton is a one-Michelin-star fine dining room where the cooking leans creative and regional, and the ingredients are clearly non-negotiable. The terrace out back is a fine reason to time your visit well, and the staff manage that rare trick of being present without hovering.
