Ivy-covered stone walls and a pair of turrets rise from a hilltop in the Berry countryside, and this boutique château hotel is as composed inside as out: tall bookshelves, oil paintings in gilded frames, fires going, a baby grand in the corner. Guest rooms have parquet floors and family heirlooms, and several open straight onto gardens with a swimming pool. A handful of suites occupy the renovated outbuildings for a bit more privacy.
