    The 450-square-metre spa has a wood sauna positioned so you stare directly at the Eiger's north face, which is either deeply calming or deeply alarming depending on your relationship with mountains. This family-run alpine hotel sits beside Interlaken's golf course, rooms done in warm timber with balconies aimed at the Bernese Oberland. The spa was designed by the family themselves, which shows in how personal the whole place feels.
