Tristan Brandt's fine dining restaurant sits beside a castle park in Weinheim, where the terrace makes it easy to forget you're supposed to be paying attention to the menu. Inside, plasterwork moldings meet clean modern lines. The kitchen ranges freely, moving from afternoon Flammkuchen and cake to caviar and truffle fries to a Wiener schnitzel with warm potato salad, which is either ambitious range or a very honest self-portrait, depending on your mood.
