The name isn't a Greek myth warning, it's Sandra's place, as in Sandra Pérez, the Cuban-born writer and artist who built this small beach resort on Isla Holbox herself. Seventeen rooms and a villa sit in low buildings facing the sea, furnished with local artisan pieces and antiques in a way that feels genuinely lived-in. Hammocks, palapa-shaded beach, whale shark tours, a spa, and a poolside bar do the work that jet-skis would elsewhere.
