    A 40-minute boat ride from Cartagena is the fastest way to reach a beach Colombia's Caribbean coast rarely offers: a quiet private cove on Isla Barú, where this LEED-certified luxury resort sits with four infinity pools, a full spa, and three restaurants running French-inflected Caribbean food. Rooms come with sea-view balconies; upper suites add Jacuzzis and butler service. Most guests, once they arrive, don't leave, which the staff seems to have planned for.
