    Twin towers of Parisian grandeur dropped into the middle of Tianhe, where Guangzhou does its best impression of always having meant to be cosmopolitan. This is a full-scale luxury hotel: palatial suites hung with photos of Paris while actual Guangzhou skyline fills the windows, an L'Occitane spa, a high-tech gym, and restaurants polished to a high shine. The Sofitel formula mixes French house style with local interiors, and here it lands without feeling like a copy of anywhere else.
