    Behind a shingle-clad façade in a quiet Ruhr town, this intimate fine-dining restaurant holds a Michelin star and an identity split neatly in two: Japanese-inflected modern tasting menus through the week, then Wiener schnitzel with potato salad on Saturday lunchtimes, which is either charmingly grounded or quietly genius. The conservatory table overlooking the garden is the one to request, and the terrace fills up fast in summer.
