The Donna Portals

A giant iris eye sculpture separates bedroom from bathroom in at least one suite, and that tells you everything about the register Marcel Wanders was working in. This is a design hotel above Portals Nous bay, whitewashed and geometric outside, defiantly theatrical within. Themed suites run from pinball machine to mirrored ceiling over a circular bed. After dark, a 30-metre rooftop water cascade lights up. The subterranean spa leans cave-like, with white tree-of-life figures glowing throughout.
