1. The Ritz-Carlton, Langkawi

Villas are built in the style of traditional Malay villages, marble bathrooms mirror the greenery outside, and infinity pools spill toward the Andaman Sea. The spa and beachside restaurant both pull design cues from local fish traps, which sounds odd until you see it. The crowd wears linen and looks very pleased with their life choices.
