1. The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto

    Tucked into a quieter corner of Higashiyama, this Four Seasons spa is the kind of place that makes you forget Kyoto's streets are absolutely heaving with tourists. The hotel itself wraps around a centuries-old pond garden with a teahouse and a very unbothered heron, and the sprawling underground spa beneath it all is one of the largest in the city. Come in looking frazzled, leave looking suspiciously serene.
