Built from stone, slate, and timber salvaged from the estate's old farm buildings, The Tempus manages to look like it has always been there without actually being old. It's a 52-room country house hotel on a historic Northumberland estate, an hour from Newcastle, with beamed ceilings and stone fireplaces paired against leopard print and florals. The Orangery does classic British cooking and Sunday roasts; a proper tipi handles wood-fired pizza when the mood is less formal.
