A Grade II-listed former dye mill on the River Avon, Timbrell's Yard is a small hotel in Bradford-on-Avon that leans into the setting without overdoing it. Stone fireplaces and oak beams downstairs, sheepskins and patchwork tiles in the rooms, and the better ones come with freestanding tubs and floor-to-ceiling windows over the water. The bar pours craft ales and West Country ciders, and the Cornish Martini has quietly become the house drink. Bath is seven miles away, if you remember you need it.
