Turtle Inn

Francis Ford Coppola owns this beachfront resort in Placencia, and he decorated it exactly the way you'd expect: hand-carved Balinese doors, antique Indonesian textiles, Japanese soaking tubs, fresh seafood and Italian food on the menu. The thatched villas have no air conditioning, which is either a dealbreaker or the whole point. Boat trips to the barrier reef and Monkey River sit just outside, and the Coppola wine list is, naturally, very present at sunset.
