A boutique hotel inside Essaouira's old medina walls, yards from the Atlantic, decorated like a colonial fever dream: antiques collected from across several continents, bespoke finishes, and linen that probably has its own provenance. The young French owner has made the riad hotels of Marrakech look restrained by comparison. A small spa handles hammam and massage, and the staff know where to eat. Essaouira handles the rest.
