    A voco hotel in Hangzhou's Binjiang district, pitched squarely between the budget pile and the sprawling West Lake resort circuit. The brief seems to have been "stylish enough, luxurious enough," and the result largely delivers on both halves: a spa, indoor pool, fitness center, and two restaurants covering Western, Hangzhou, and Cantonese ground. Good for the traveler who wants comfort without the ceremony that comes with an extravagant price tag.
