The steakhouse came first, with live lobsters and a piano player, and it's still downstairs in something close to its original form. The hotel wrapping around it is a different story entirely: a genuinely modern boutique property that would raise eyebrows in a hipper city and raises them even higher in Ann Arbor. Family-owned since forever, but clearly not coasting on it.
