The name does the work here: "root" and "craft" in German, and the kitchen takes both seriously. Set in a pair of old farmstead buildings in the Rhineland-Palatinate countryside, this is a farm-to-table restaurant where the ingredients are almost entirely regional and the cooking stays pleasingly unfussy. The garden terrace fills up in summer, and the rustic interior handles the colder months with ease.
