Yado Shiontei

A ryokan-style inn just back from Miho Bay where the local timber and the local hot springs do most of the heavy lifting. Guestrooms come in Japanese or Western style and each has a private onsen bath. There's a courtyard garden, a tea room, and a white-porcelain gallery, plus a spa you can rent privately, champagne included if you're feeling it. Traditional in feel, quietly contemporary in execution.
