The Best Hotels Near Weinstock, by the Record

  1. A hotel and working winery behind heavy stone walls on the Main river in the Bavarian village of Frickenhausen. The 29 rooms mix antiques with bold graphic color in a way that shouldn't work but keeps working. A spa, wine tastings, and a dining room with a public wine fridge that stays open all day round things out. Michelin awarded it one Key. It's the rare wine-country stay where the building itself has something to say.

  2. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is so perfectly preserved it can feel like a stage set, and Villa Mittermeier sits right at the Würzburger Gate playing no part in the medieval cosplay. This boutique hotel wears the old building lightly, pairing its historic bones with contemporary furniture and vivid color schemes inside. The Michelin Guide awarded it one Key. A Michelin-starred restaurant is on the premises for guests who came to eat as much as to sleep.

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. It runs on the scored places nearby: more good stuff within reach, higher score. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
