The art on the walls here runs to Alex Katz, Chuck Close, and Hockney, which sets an odd, pleasant tone for a spa. The building itself is almost cathedral-proportioned, with soaring ceilings and windows that look out over Cayuga Lake and the lavender fields surrounding it. Treatments lean Ayurvedic, and the hot and cold soaking pools, saunas, and steam rooms fill out the rest of the afternoon. Vogue named it among the 100 best spas in the world.
