Rank 132. Appel Thaï
Thai
The garden and terraces in Anderlecht are the draw on a warm day, and this casual Thai restaurant fills them fast. The cooking is unapologetically full-flavored, leaning into fresh herbs and layered spices the way a good Thai kitchen should. Portions are generous and prices are low enough that you'll order one more thing just because you can. It holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, which tracks.

Rank 132. Car Bon
Sichuan
A Sichuan restaurant on the Chaussée de Waterloo that holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, Car Bon is exactly the kind of small, packed neighborhood spot where the menu goes on forever and the tables turn fast. The kitchen leans into the numbing heat and deep aromatics of Sichuan cooking, and the regulars filing in early know the drill. Book ahead; the room is small and the word is out.

Rank 132. French Kiss
French
The grill is the engine here: the owner works it personally, calling the timing on every cut of meat that leaves the kitchen. French Kiss is an old-school brasserie in Jette that earns a Michelin Bib Gourmand running a straightforward game, grilled meats, shallot sauces, shrimp fritters, Brussels waffles, and fries that arrive actually hot. The room runs warm and the portions run generous, which is its own kind of argument.

Old tiled floors, leather seats, and patinated woodwork give this Uccle bistro the feel of a room that has never needed redecorating. The terrace looks out over the Kinsendaal Nature Reserve, which is a quietly absurd bonus. The kitchen leans into French classics with a reputation built on sauces and the rotisserie, and the Michelin Guide has flagged it with a Bib Gourmand. Regulars who never bother with the menu fill the tables most nights.

The scent of lime leaves and curry hits you before you've even found a seat at this warm, softly lit Thai restaurant on a street corner in Ixelles. The kitchen leans on fresh herbs and spices crushed to order, so the food arrives with a brightness that fades fast, which is the whole point. The Michelin Guide recognized it with a Bib Gourmand, and the room fills early with people who clearly know this already.

Rank 132. MAÏNOÏ
Thai
A Thai restaurant in the Brussels suburbs where the specials board does more work than the printed menu. The room leans into warm, traditional Thai decor without tipping into theme-park territory, and the kitchen keeps one foot in the classics while the sauces quietly steal the show. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand, which tracks for a place that feels like a find rather than a production.

Rank 132. Maza'j
Lebanese
The mezze spread lands on the table fast and keeps coming, which is the whole point at this Lebanese restaurant on Boulevard du Souverain. Hummus, grilled meats, herb-heavy vegetables, and enough food for a proper shared feast, all at prices low enough to earn a Michelin Bib Gourmand. The room runs warm and loud in the way these meals tend to, and nobody leaves having under-ordered.
The awards

Rank 132. ÔNGBÀ
Vietnamese
A Vietnamese sharing spot in the Flagey neighborhood that makes you forget the neighborhood the moment you walk in. The menu reads like a street food tour: spring rolls, snacks, slow-braised casseroles, all meant to be passed around. Portions are sized for grazing and priced accordingly, which is probably why the room fills fast. The Michelin Guide has given it a Bib Gourmand. Book ahead.

Rank 132. Osteria Bolognese
Bolognese Italian
An Italian osteria in Ixelles with a narrow focus: the cooking of Emilia Romagna, ingredients sourced directly from the region, no shortcuts. The menu reads like a love letter to Bologna, tagliatelle with ragù included, made the way it's supposed to be made rather than the way everyone else makes it. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand. Small, warm, and loud in the best sense, with regulars who clearly know the drill.

Rank 132. Selecto
Modern French
A bistro on one of Brussels' more self-consciously cool streets, Selecto earns a Michelin Bib Gourmand by keeping things honest: a short set menu, blackboard specials, and modern French cooking that leans Mediterranean when the mood takes it. The flavors are direct and generous rather than architectural. The wine list tilts French without being smug about it. Regulars seem to have done the math on the prix fixe and decided there's nothing to argue about.

Rank 132. Stone Dial
Contemporary Chinese
An old wood-burning stove anchors the dining room of this contemporary Chinese restaurant, which occupies what may be the oldest building in Uccle. The setting is a little theatrical, all dark wood and vintage quirk with chopsticks on the table, and the menu leans into the contrast: colorful, generous plates of traditional Chinese cooking. The Michelin Guide awarded it a Bib Gourmand, which tracks for a place that feels like a find without making you feel like you're being let in on a secret.

Singha is the mythological lion the place takes its name from, and his image shows up throughout a dining room that leans into Thai decor without apology. This is a neighborhood Thai restaurant that has been around forever and holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand, with a long menu of spiced, balanced dishes and portions that don't feel stingy. Book ahead, or you'll be walking home with a takeaway bag, which is honestly not the worst outcome.

Rank 144. Amore, Pasta e Gioia
Italian
A family-run Italian osteria in Ixelles where the name, which translates loosely to love, pasta, and joy, doubles as an accurate menu preview. The team makes their pasta in-house, the antipasti lean generous, and the cooking runs on familiarity rather than flourish. It's the kind of neighborhood place where you already know what you want before you've sat down, which is usually exactly the point.

Rank 144. Atelier Acqua e Sale
Italian
A casual Italian neighborhood spot in Saint-Gilles that fills quickly with locals who seem to know the menu by heart but let the front-of-house talk them through it anyway. The cooking leans into the kind of unfussy, full-flavored Italian food that doesn't need a concept to justify itself: burrata ravioli, bright tomatoes, nothing trying too hard. Portions are generous and prices are honest, which explains the faithful crowd.

Rank 144. Bottega Vannini
Italian
Shelves of jarred tomatoes, cured meats, and imported pantry staples line the walls, because Bottega Vannini operates as a deli first and a trattoria second, more or less simultaneously. The Italian menu runs through classics like vitello tonnato and saltimbocca with no interest in reinventing them. Bring a bottle and pay the corkage, or browse their wine selection. Before you leave, the counter will almost certainly convince you to take something home.

Contemporary French
The dining room sits on the top floor of a boutique hotel overlooking Brussels Park, and the room has the quiet confidence of somewhere designed by people who actually care about rooms. The contemporary French menu follows suit, with a chef whose cooking finds its edge in unexpected pairings rather than classical restraint. Dinner here runs formal without feeling stiff, and the service aims to leave nothing unasked for.

Rank 144. Chou
Mediterranean
The name is a French term of endearment, which tells you something about how the regulars feel about this place. It's a gastronomic bistro in Ixelles that leans into Mediterranean warmth, drawing a faithful mix of neighbourhood locals and the nearby EU crowd who've quietly claimed it as their canteen. The chef's cooking moves between the rustic and the considered, with dishes that tend to involve good French technique and produce that earns its billing.

Rank 144. Ciao
Modern Italian
The dining room inside a 17th-century stately home on Place Poelaert, all character and elegance with a pretty bar tucked alongside. The building belongs to a private club, but Ciao is open to anyone who wanders in. The chef leans heavily Tuscan, turning out Italian comfort food with a light modern hand, housemade pasta and slow-braised cuts that feel considered without feeling precious.

Rank 144. Cinq
Modern French
A contemporary villa near the Brussels ring road that runs on gutsy, big-boned French cooking. The chef trained classically and still shows it, but the menu moves with the moment: rich sauces, carefully handled fish, flavors that feel considered rather than fussy. The room has a casual, buzzy energy that makes the whole thing feel like a celebration even when it isn't one, which is a neat trick for a place this polished.

Rank 144. Colonel Louise
Modern French
A row of cured meats draped across the counter greets you before you've even sat down, which tells you exactly what kind of brasserie this is. Near Avenue Louise, Colonel Louise is built around beef, and the first real decision is which breed you want: Aubrac, Wagyu, or Holstein. The fries come cooked in beef tallow, the bone marrow is on the menu without apology, and the vitello tonnato is there for anyone who needs a break from red meat. They don't, usually.

Rank 144. De Copain
Creative French
Two friends run this creative French restaurant in Dilbeek, doing everything themselves, from sourcing vegetables from local market gardeners to pulling fish from the North Sea. The cooking is produce-led and quietly ambitious, with fermented flavors and unexpected textures woven through dishes that never feel overwrought. A garden patio and a well-chosen wine list round things out for a crowd that takes lunch seriously but hasn't booked a babysitter.

A stylish villa outside Brussels where a chef took over the family restaurant and quietly made it his own. The cooking is farm-to-table contemporary, rooted in Belgian produce and legible flavors, with the occasional Asian detour that earns its place rather than apologizing for it. The room runs warm and unstuffy, the kind of place where the food feels considered without anyone reminding you of that fact.

Spanish
A Spanish restaurant in Brussels where the menu moves comfortably between tapas, rice dishes, and something more composed without making a fuss about any of it. The kitchen leans into bold, direct flavors, the kind that don't need a lot of explaining. Casa Gerardo's celebrated chef is behind the project, which gives the cooking a serious backbone even when the room stays relaxed and unpretentious.

Rank 144. Jaco
Apulian
A beige-toned dining room in the well-heeled Fort Jaco neighborhood, where the kitchen takes its cues from Puglia: bright, sun-driven flavors with a light touch. This is a contemporary Italian restaurant with a sensual, slightly dressed-up feel. The bar is worth arriving early for, partly for cocktails and partly to plot a run through the adjoining deli before you sit down.

The tiled walls and zinc bar still look exactly like the butcher's shop this Art Deco Saint-Gilles building once housed, which sets up an odd, charming contrast with what comes out of the kitchen. This neighborhood restaurant serves modern, organic-leaning food, the kind where carrots get a whole dramatic arc and a piece of fish arrives with quiet Asian inflections. The cooking is playful without being showy, and the prices stay sensible enough that coming back feels easy.

Rank 144. La Truffe Noire
Mediterranean
The truffle smell hits you before you've found your seat, which is either a promise or a warning depending on how you feel about that. La Truffe Noire is a fine dining room near the Bois de la Cambre where classic Mediterranean cooking leans hard into the fungus: pasta, fish, carpaccio finished tableside. Lunch brings the price down enough that you don't need a special occasion to justify it.

Rank 144. La Villa Lorraine
Contemporary French
Sole meunière and Black Angus steak with fries share the menu with pigeon over fermented raspberry purée, which tells you most of what you need to know about this grand Brussels dining room. It's a classic French restaurant that's been around forever, lately refreshed with a sleek, low-lit interior that lands somewhere between old-world institution and cosmopolitan brasserie. The service is the attentive, read-your-mood kind that Brussels does well.

Modern Italian
The terrace out back, half-hidden from the avenue, sets the tone for this Italian restaurant in Etterbeek where the cooking tilts classic but keeps a few surprises up its sleeve. Vitello tonnato and tiramisu are on the menu, though neither arrives quite how you remember it. The chef has a habit of serving the food himself, which either charms you immediately or makes you wonder if the kitchen is very small.

Classic French
The Art Nouveau interior puts you squarely in a turn-of-the-century Parisian brasserie, all warm wood and period detail, though you're firmly in Woluwe. Classic Belgian-French cooking fills the menu: steak with a béarnaise that apparently breaks some rule, fresh fries cut to order, veal's brains for the nostalgic, île flottante for dessert. On jazz nights, the whole time-warp effect gets a little harder to argue with.

Rank 144. Le Passage
Classical French
A neighborhood classic in the Saint Job quarter of Uccle, where the kitchen leans into traditional French technique with the occasional international detour. The cooking is generous in the old sense, built around serious produce rather than flourish, and the room runs on the kind of easy warmth that keeps locals coming back without a reservation nudge. A proper sit-down lunch here is the move.

The dining room sits inside the Flagey building, a swooping Art Deco landmark that locals call the ocean liner, and the exotic wood paneling makes the brasserie feel like a first-class cabin that actually serves food. The menu leans Belgian comfort, roast chicken at the center, but the kitchen has a light touch of mischief, stuffing brioche with black pudding and fried onions. The terrace fills fast when the square is humming.

Calf's brains in lemon sauce and veal kidneys in mustard sit comfortably alongside tagliata on a menu that refuses to pick a lane, which somehow works perfectly. This relaxed brasserie near the Sablon has the wood-panelled warmth of a place that feeds regulars who never glance at the menu, with a sunny terrace shielded from the street. Classic French cooking, a few Mediterranean detours, and French toast to finish.

Contemporary Belgian
A green pergola shades the terrace in summer, and by the weekend the dancing starts, which tells you most of what you need to know about Lily's. It's a contemporary restaurant that leans hard into the St. Tropez playbook, all premium finishes and cocktails that arrive looking architectural. The menu moves between Belgian classics and ceviche without breaking a sweat, and the room fills with people who dress like they knew they'd be photographed.

Seasonal French
The terrace on Place du Grand Sablon goes red in fine weather, which tells you roughly what kind of crowd this French brasserie pulls. Beef carpaccio and vol-au-vent share the menu with pasta in salted butter, the kind of pedigree classics that have kept Sablon regulars coming back for as long as anyone can remember. Inside it's all clean, neutral tones, polished without trying too hard.

A short walk from the European institutions, this contemporary restaurant makes a point of sourcing from Wallonia's larder, cycling through asparagus in spring and wild game come autumn. Modern French
A refurbished town house on the main square, with the kind of colour palette that suggests someone actually thought about it. This is a modern French restaurant running four- or five-course menus, where the kitchen leans on local produce and classical technique in equal measure. The chef has a way with the quiet details, a beurre blanc, a carrot reimagined with béarnaise, that signals someone who cooked seriously before settling here.

Modern French
A 1920s townhouse in the Châtelain neighborhood that someone once decided should feel like London, Paris, and New York all at once, which sounds exhausting but somehow works. The crowd here tends toward the well-dressed regulars who know the neighborhood, and a few of them sleep over in the handful of designer rooms upstairs.

Modern French
The walls are hung with fantasy creatures and colorful plants, plus postcards sent back by regulars who've clearly never stopped thinking about dinner. Origine is a neighborhood restaurant in Etterbeek where the monthly menu comes in three lanes, vegetarian, meat, or fish, and the chef's approach is loose enough that vol-au-vent might arrive with morel cream and a verjuice potato foam. Whimsical is the word, and the room earns it without trying too hard.

David Martin's fine dining room inside the Corinthia Grand Hotel sits beneath a restored stained-glass dome that makes the rest of Brussels feel a little underdressed. A large bonsai anchors the room at this old-school Japanese restaurant on Avenue Louise, where the terracotta walls and Asian art give it the calm of somewhere that has never felt the need to keep up. Italian
Tableside filleting of the seabass is a nice reminder that this Italian restaurant on the village square hasn't forgotten how to make a moment of it. The chef keeps portions generous and the cooking rooted in Italian produce, with a wine list deep enough to get lost in. The cottage setting manages to feel both spacious and unfussy, and when the weather cooperates, the terrace earns its place. An old-school institution that never seems to need updating.

The Cubist-inspired facade on a quiet Woluwe avenue doesn't prepare you for how cheerful and airy it is inside. This is a modern, farm-to-table restaurant where the kitchen takes seasonal cooking seriously but keeps a light touch, spinning classic combinations into something unexpected. The chef at this modern French restaurant in Brussels' European quarter has a habit of wandering out of the kitchen mid-service to explain, in patient detail, exactly what he just did to your plate.
