The Best Pizza Near Eight Row Flint, by the Record

  1. Rank 1. Rosie Cannonball

    Wood-fired Pizza

A complimentary splash of bubbles lands on your table the moment you sit down, which sets the tone nicely for a Montrose pizza and pasta spot that's got more going on than it lets on. The wood-fired oven does most of the talking, and the honey cake with crème fraîche gelato has a way of making people miss their plans. The Michelin Guide has given it a Bib Gourmand, and the wine list is longer than you'd expect.

  2. The wood-fired oven is the whole point here, turning out Neapolitan-leaning pies with a light, fragrant crust that somehow holds its own under toppings that range from a straight Margherita to bacon-and-shrimp combinations that nobody in Naples signed off on. It's a neighborhood pizzeria on West Alabama, cozy enough that regulars fill the room fast on weeknights. Salads, pasta, and desserts round things out. It's on the 50 Top Pizza USA list of Excellent Pizzerias.

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. It runs on the scored places nearby: more good stuff within reach, higher score. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
