  1. Would go back

    UnderTow

    Gilbert

So this is maybe a bit hypercritical—the menu when it first opened was so much better than the new one. Like a great tiki drink, a great tiki bar menu has a balance of sweet, sour, and strong, and Undertow was killing it.

Now all the original drinks are super sweet. I guess I’ll stick to the classics until the next menu change. Just to be clear, this doesn’t mean I’ll be going any less. Undertow is still awesome.

    Buck & Rider

    Gilbert · Modern Seafood

My 10 y/o orders the half lobster, hot, with an extra dish of butter. Then he sometimes cons us into a kids sushi roll as well. And sometimes (always) he’s wearing a Godzilla shirt and some basketball shorts.

Either they think we’re family because we go all the time or they put up with us because we usually go around 4 and don’t demand happy hour seats. I guess both of those things are compatible.

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

      Stay Score

Four fifths of the score is the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin Key outweighs a listicle. The last fifth is where it is: the ranked places to eat and things to do around it, and how safe the country is. When you sort by what's nearby, distance from you changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. The places are 60% of it: the best of what's within reach, weighed by distance. The setting is the other 40%: how life goes in that country (how people rate their own lives, how long and how well they live, how safe they are) and what it's like right there (the air, and the weather). If the score looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
