Anticavilla Hotel

A colonial house in Cuernavaca that an architect gutted and reassembled until the colonial bits and the brutalist bits started a conversation. The hotel holds a Michelin Key, and the rooms are named for twentieth-century Italian artists, stocked with Bulgari products, and furnished with modernist pieces alongside the antique bones. The open-air restaurant sits under a soaring concrete canopy, which feels appropriate for a city that bills itself the City of Eternal Spring.
