A ten-room hotel spa in a timbered house on Rue Rabelais that has, over the years, been a bank, a school, and a solicitor's office, which makes it considerably more interesting than most places you'd sleep. Some rooms open onto private terraces with views over Amboise's rooftops and the castle looming above it all. Bathrooms have both a deep tub and a hydromassage shower, and a small spa and pool are on hand for those long Loire Valley afternoons.
