Aurora Villa

The hotel cuts its lights at ten o'clock so guests can watch the Northern Lights from the dark, which tells you more about this place than any amenity list could. Aurora Villa is a Nordic-minimalist lodge half an hour outside Fairbanks, incongruously sleek among the usual rustic cabins, sitting at roughly the same latitude as Iceland. The surrounding area is quiet enough that when the lights go out, they really go out.
