Farmhouses draped in wisteria and wild roses, some dating back to the sixteenth century, make up this Provençal resort tucked beneath the limestone cliffs of Les Baux. Rooms keep a spare, modern hand against flagstone floors and old fireplaces. Open the windows in the morning and the herbs outside do the rest. The restaurant, trained Wolfgang Puck among others, sits below cathedral ceilings with the cliff face framing every window, turning gold at dusk.
