An 18th-century neoclassical château in the Loire Valley, less than an hour from Paris by train, now operating as a 19-room luxury boutique hotel. The French heritage authorities kept such a close eye on its restoration that the neoclassical bones are intact, while the interiors pair Jean-Baptiste Pillement's original painted work with contemporary flourishes.
