Adejoké Bakare's West African restaurant in Fitzrovia holds a Michelin star and a reputation that outgrew its original Brixton market stall rather quickly. The format is a multi-course set menu, the feel is warm and neighbourhood-y despite the fine-dining trappings, and the cooking leans on cassava, plantain, and egúsí with the confidence of someone who knows exactly why she moved to a bigger room.
