Two fat cherubs clutching the keys of heaven flank the entrance to this traditional pub on Endell Street, marble columns, decorated arches, and hanging baskets completing an exterior that takes itself pleasantly seriously. Inside, enough brass instruments hang from the ceiling to outfit a full orchestra section, which sets the tone: eccentric, old-school, and entirely unbothered by trends. A proper pub in the middle of Covent Garden tourist country.
