  1. De Pastorie

    Modern French

A 17th-century former presbytery turned polished fine dining destination, holding a Michelin star, in the quiet Flemish countryside. A father-and-son team runs the kitchen, turning out French classics with a lighter, more contemporary hand. The manicured garden and terrace do a lot of heavy lifting on a good day. The wine list runs to what is generously called a bible, which tells you roughly where the evening is headed.

    One honor, in evidence:

    The record strongest first

One number, weighted & current 86

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. It runs on the scored places nearby: more good stuff within reach, higher score. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
