El Retiro
Modern Asturian Spanish
A three-hundred-year-old holm oak stands at the entrance of the church next door, and the tasting menu is named after the chapel beside it. El Retiro is the more serious dining room of a family business that began as a village tavern, and it holds a Michelin star for the modern Asturian cooking that came out of it. The chef pulls from local ingredients with enough technique to make an Asian-Asturian fusion feel perfectly at home in the hills above Llanes.
