Brutalist concrete on a mountainside above Oaxaca City is not the expected pitch for a luxury boutique hotel, yet the Flavia Hotel pulls it off with eleven rooms that feel more like someone's very well-appointed home than a property. The collection of contemporary art runs throughout, the rooftop bar looks out over the whole city, and the restaurant pairs Chilean and Mexican cooking in a combination nobody asked for but nobody argues with.
