    The pot-au-feu of wild boar braised in Kriek beer is the kind of dish that tells you this isn't your average Ostend bistro, even if the room looks warmly, reassuringly like one. Frenchette runs set menus with a bistronomic spirit, where foraged and farm-sourced ingredients get treated with genuine ambition. The cooking is forthright and a little festive, which suits a town that exists mainly to remind you that a seaside evening can still feel like a small occasion.
