A clifftop hotel perched above the Bay of Naples, the Grand Hotel Excelsior Vittoria sits on five acres of parkland while somehow also opening onto Sorrento's busiest piazza. Marilyn Monroe and Sophia Loren both stayed here, which gives the marble-and-garden grandeur a certain context. The sunset views from the terrace are the kind that stop mid-sentence.
