A Mediterranean promontory hotel that has been lost in time, deliberately and without apology. Antique-filled rooms run from restrained white stucco to gloriously florid silk-and-gold-trim affairs, the better ones opening onto sea-view balconies. Between the clifftop walks, pool, spa, and clay courts, leaving the grounds feels almost beside the point, though the Costa Brava's walled towns and small beaches are just down the road. Barcelona is an hour away and several decades forward.
