A medieval castle outside Girona, long abandoned and then rebuilt by Dutch owners with a very clear opinion about rust-colored parasol roofs. The hotel keeps the stone walls and atmospheric Tower rooms of the original structure while threading in contemporary furnishings and a modern wing for anyone who wants more space. Every shared space, from the wine-cellar bar to the rooftop terrace, commits fully to the drama. Closes mid-November through April.
