Twenty-three rooms behind a cream facade in the heart of Klosters, and the Vereina manages to pack in a Roman-style pool spa and two restaurants without feeling like it's trying too hard. It's a boutique hotel done in proper Alpine traditional style, recently freshened up but with none of the ironic log-cabin riffs that plague the genre. The mountain crowd skis in winter and hikes in summer, and the place holds up either way.
