A late-Meiji textile merchant's townhouse in the Nishijin weaving district, renovated into a private rental villa sleeping up to eight. The old warehouse still stands on the lot, but the rest is strikingly contemporary, with a proper kitchen and a futuristic shower upstairs. Rooms open onto a courtyard of manicured maple and moss, best appreciated from the personal soaking tub. Two Western bedrooms and two tatami rooms give the group options for how traditional they want their morning to feel.
