A stone farmhouse set in a lavender field at the foot of dramatic limestone cliffs, this thirteen-room inn in the Alpes de Haute Provence was Alain Ducasse's private country retreat before it became a hotel. The kitchen draws from an onsite garden tended by a dedicated gardener, and eating on the terrace with Provençal hills spread out ahead of you puts gilded dining rooms in a certain perspective. The Michelin Guide awarded it one Key.
