The Art Deco bar, all red velvet and crystal sconces, makes a case for why Knokke-Heist once drew the Frank Sinatra and Brigitte Bardot crowd. This hotel reopened a few years ago after Belgian architect Glenn Sestig reworked it: eucalyptus paneling, onyx marble, and a quiet-luxury ethos in rooms with king beds and deep soaking tubs. Upper suites look out over the North Sea, which is a reasonable trade for the Belgian coast.
