    The vast glass conservatory frames a panoramic sweep of Lac d'Annecy that does most of the talking before the kitchen even weighs in. This is a one-Michelin-star fine dining room where the chef, originally from Arcachon, quietly folds the flavors of southwest France into dishes built around local, sustainably grown produce. Leather and oak keep the room warm without fuss, and the cooking runs creative without losing the thread of what things actually taste like.
