  1. Le Coq aux Champs

    Creative French

A rooster-in-the-fields kind of name for a country restaurant that turns out to be quietly serious, with a bright, spare interior, a terrace overlooking a manicured garden, and an open kitchen where the chef works with the precision of someone who finds a short ingredient list more interesting than a long one. The food is creative French, one Michelin star, and built around local Condroz produce, with sweet-sour balances and sauces that do most of the talking.

    One honor, in evidence:

    The record strongest first

One number, weighted & current 86

Eat Score

The score comes from the awards it's won, weighted by who gave them: a Michelin star outweighs a listicle. When you sort by what's nearby, distance changes the order, never the score.

          Best Place Score

The Best Place Score rates the area around a point, not any one place. It runs on the scored places nearby: more good stuff within reach, higher score. If it looks low, we probably haven't found enough critics out here yet.
