A ten-room hotel inside a grand Italianate mansion perched on a West Sussex valley ridge, surrounded by lakes, rhododendron gardens, and its own vineyard. Each room is individually dressed with statement wallpapers, antiques, and marble fireplaces. Guests get after-hours access to the gardens, which is exactly as peaceful as it sounds. The restaurant runs foraged tasting menus against mirrored walls and vineyard views. The Michelin Guide awarded it one Key.
