Les Jardins de la Médina

Ancient palms and citrus trees fill the courtyard of this boutique hotel in the Kasbah district, where hammocks are strung between trees and the mood is closer to a private villa than a riad on the tourist circuit. Adobe walls, carved woodwork, and shaded patios set the tone, while some rooms add solariums or fireplaces. The Saadian Tombs are practically next door, which is either very convenient or a reminder that history never really clocks out.
